To me the word EARTHWORKs means/summarizes all activities related to soil such as:
- LEVELLING AND GRADING
- EXCAVATION
- BACKFILLING
- COMPACTION
- SOIL DISPOSAL
I made this statement because somebody means that earthwork is an activity like compaction, backfilling, excavation etc etc.!?
just want ur opinion on that if whether my interpretation is correct or not

Over here in Southern California I have only heard the term earthwork, when referring to the quantity of cut and fill on a project. Civil Development Group, LLC 字串9

I'll concur with brandon. I use "Earthwork" as the title of a section in the specifications dealing with earth moving, etc.
