Archived Temperature data for Mississippi River

Does anyone know where I can get some historical data concerning recorded temperature readings for the Mississippi River, specifically near Empire or Venice (New Orleans, LA).  I'm looking for daily data for a three year period (2002-2005) in order to input in the temperature file for a sedimentation analysis in HEC-RAS.

I've looked at the NOAA, USGS, and USACE websites, but I can't seem to find the daily temperature data.  Maybe I'm not looking in the right site files.  Any suggestions or links would be helpful.

it's on here for Empire but not for Venice, but you won't get three years worth.  You might try the station at West Pointe a la Hache
