Does anyone know if you can compute earth work volumes using autocad 2006. I have just completed a survey of soil and muck shift. Can i compute the amount of muck taken off site using Autocad.? I know i can compute areas, but not sure about volume for something like this.

You can try www.ezysurf.com You will need to survey the area after you get the muck removed and then compare the two surfaces.

I've done with ACAD 2000 using 3D.

Could you explain you did it.

A little bit late for my response, however, here we go. In my case, once I had my profiles at my station numbers, I created prismatic volumes with the 3D commands. These prismatic volumes were for material to be excavated and for fill. Then invoke the INQUIRY>MASS PROPERTIES of the 3D prismatic volumes. I also did such prismatic volumes to determine amount of fill for AST's earthen dikes and dike volumes.
